Johnny Rocket's Launchpad

I met this guy named Larry when I was doing laundry the other day. He's in this band Plant Face and man, did he have alot of dirty sheets and blankets. He said he'd heard of the Hot Rockets after I started telling him about how great they are; and he said he had some real experience booking hot acts on the side too! We did some haggling and I got The Hot Rockets a headlining gig at this club called Club De Wash! And I got him to agree to the whole shibang for only $4 in quarters (my laundry money) and some of my dryer sheets! Oh yea! Man, the Rockets are gonna be so happy. He even put his OWN band on the bill too. -and some band called 'Open 48 Hours' with a famous drummer in the band or something! Oh Yea! I hope the bill is a good one. Larry was a little mean looking, but once we started haggling I could tell he really understood Rock and Roll!

I made a flyer for it at the copy shop with some help from the pretty lady there. Thanks for the help Christy!!!!!

OK, I'm off to the Hot Rockets place to show them the flyer and tell them about the rock show!!!

maybe I should add myself to the bill as the opener opener and play some of the songs I wrote for the Hot Rockets too! No wait, that would confuse all the fans in the audience:

So I caught the tail end of Dead Poets Society last night on cable.
That Robin Williams drinks alot of soda to be that wound up!
Anyway...got me thinking about trying a poem..so here goes!


IF I was a Hot Rocket
I'd fly thru the stars
If I was a Hot Rocket
I'd have many guitars
A sunburst Fender,maybe a Gibson, a
sparkling Gretsch, I wouldn't need a lender.
If I was a Hot Rocket
All systems clear! I'd be wearing a smile from ear to ear!
If I was a Hot Rocket
I'd give 100 percent

When I'm a HOT ROCKET!!!

Man, my turntable has been burning up the track!
The Hot Rockets haven't played a show in a while, so I've been rockin' the stereo alot lately.
There's SO MANY great records with songs about rockets!





I had to take Matt and his date to the drive-in the other weekend and we saw Superfuzz, and I just haven't been able to get those songs out of my head! I mean, it's like the Hot Rockets were there in the studio while The Oceans cut these hot tracks! ...and I totally understand why RED would make you lose your superpowers. I mean, the only red The Hot Rockets wear or drive or have around is Elton's bass strap and I think that's to keep him from rocking TOO HARD!

Oh man, it's the coooooolest!

If you stare really hard at the TV static, you can see stuff in it!

I was watching it again (for like the 10000000th time!), and I swear I saw Susie and Brynn in the background singing along!
Really!
Elton and Matt were there too! Rocking out!

I also think I saw some of the Willy Wonka tunnel stuff coming at me, so I quick turned it off!
And not the one where Officer Todd Hanson is dressed like a mannequin that comes to life either. The freaky deaky one that doesn't have Jonathan Switcher in it!!!

I'll watch it again later and see what I can see! Wow, I gotta write that one down for a song I'll write later. Pretty deep, huh?!

I was just reading in Entertainment Weekly about how ascots were back in fashion.
Pfft!
Elton's been wearing one as long as we've been The Best of Friends!

I figured I'd give it a try, as I know Elton would love it if we matched.
It's pretty hard though.









I wish they made clip-on Ascots.

oh! I almost forgot...
I RECORDED MY SONG FOR THE HOT ROCKETS!!!
I gave a tape to Susie, so I'm hoping they'll learn it and let me in the band.
Oh man, that would be THE COOLEST!!!!

Anyway, I'm rockin' out to my Hardy Boys LP.
They're not Rockets, but they'll do the trick while I iron my shirts!


Oh, and I can't find my other LP by them. If any of you have seen it around, shoot me an email.
It looks like this, and I scratched side two, when I bumped into it on the turntable. I was practicing my cheoreography for my moves for the next Hot Rockets show!
